Whiskey Point sign

1024 768 Thuja Wood Art - Reclaimed Cedar Furniture Wood Art Vancouver Victoria Gulf Islands British Columbia

This address sign was custom made for some clients on Vancouver Island.  The Whiskey Point sign is made from all reclaimed old growth red cedar that I have salvaged from local driftwood, and was constructed using traditional mortise and tenon joinery Whiskey Point sign- fullwith hand split cedar wood.   The central area for the address was sanded smooth in contrast to the naturally ridged grain of the hand split cedar.  I designed the Heron image detail to go with the address, and carved then painted the sign with high quality sign paint.  The sign is finished with Cedar Seal, an excellent environmentally safe waterproofing clear coat I use on all my outdoor woodworking.  I really enjoy these sign projects as each one is unique, and they make a lovely welcome entrance to any property.
