Thuja Wood Art nominated for MISTIC award

150 150 Thuja Wood Art - Reclaimed Cedar Furniture Wood Art Vancouver Victoria Gulf Islands British Columbia

What an honour to be nominated for one of these awards!  MISTIC (Mid-Island Science, Technology and Innovation Council) is a business resource group based in Nanaimo, BC,(one of nine region councils around BC)  who acts as the ‘first point of contact’ for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s), entrepreneurs, students, business persons and researchers seeking information related to knowledge sector industries.  The MISTIC Science, Technology & Innovation Awards were created to increase awareness of the diverse science, technology and innovation taking place in the mid and north island region.  Thuja Wood Art was nominated in the Value Added Products Award category along with many other Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast, and Gulf Island businesses.  I would like to thank whoever nominated my business, and trust that the work I have done for you was outstanding enough to warrant this nomination.  I am striving to create the greenest and most sustainable business I can.  A nomination like this helps me feel that I am moving in the right direction, and the appreciation is noticed.  Thuja Wood Art is one of the smaller businesses to be nominated, and I think that shows how much more small businesses are getting noticed, used and supported everywhere creating a viable way to make a living on your own, doing what you love, and in my case being able to even work at home in my workshop.  Where I live there is a very high percentage of self employment and small businesses, because of the small population, isolation (we are on a small island) and proximity to Victoria and Vancouver small businesses can and do work well here.  Thank you again to everyone out there who has supported me and any local small business, we survive and thrive because you care…
