A small deck beside the pond is enhanced by this arbour, which will eventually support a grape vine to create shade and an intimate place for relaxing.  Hand split, reclaimed cedar posts and rails are left rough to show off the natural curves and unique shapes of the wood.

This hand split cedar pedestrian gate adds an entrance way to the front of the house, separating the space from the car port.  The copper and rolled iron decorative metal work was inspired by a previous custom gate.

Pearson Memorial Bench

This bench was commisioned as a memorial bench for a local couple who contributed to the building of the community hall.  Made from locally salvaged red cedar, hand split and constructed with mortise and tenon joinery.  The engraving was hand drawn and carved, then painted using high quality sign paint.

A simple slab of reclaimed red cedar is inscripted with Chinese characters for a bed and breakfast.  The translation is a play on the word, “heirloom”, for the heritage building, except that the translation is “heir-rooms”.
