This hand forged cane bolt made by Justin Urbantas of Meska Ironworks is for a double pedestrian gate, keeping one gate securely closed unless the extra space is needed for a wheelbarrow or other gardening tools.  The cane bolt is lifted and rested in the metal piece above.

These double pedestrian gates open into a future bamboo grove in a secluded forest.  Made from hand split cedar reclaimed from beaches, and assembled with mortise and tenon joinery.  These gates reflect the pattern of cedar pickets and bamboo that continues throughout the whole fencing project.
